The Weka Pass Railway is a historic steam train that runs on the line between the settlements of Waipara (about 1hr north of Christchurch) and Waikari.
We were passing through on our way back from Hanmer Springs and noticed the train was about to leave on its return journey, so we wandered across to watch it go.
