I was sitting in the car reading a book, staying away from the sandflies and the rain, when I suddenly looked up and saw this brilliant rainbow skimming across the surface of the lake.
I realised that I needed to be quick so I grabbed the camera off the back seat and ran to the lake shore to start taking pictures.
When I'd taken enough photos to satisfy myself I went back to the car to get the tripod and another lens. The rainbow persisted for a while so I gradually ended up with quite a lot of equipment down at the lakeside, and had a good range of different photos.
After the rainbow had disappeared I realised just how cold the wind was so I retreated back to the comfort of the car. Soon after it was raining quite heavily and we were on our way back to St. Arnaud.
