The grey warbler is endemic to NZ and is often heard in our forests, but rarely seen because it's so small and constantly moving around. They're also easy to mistake for a hedge sparrow (aka dunnock).
I spent about half an hour watching this little fellow as he flew about hunting for food and singing.
